Sunday Sweets Isn't Ready For Fall, Y'all

I know technically it’s Fall today, but I'm not ready for autumn colors yet! So here's one last hurrah of bright flowery goodness before we surrender to our Pumpkin Spice overlords.

One of the most beautiful wreath cakes I've ever seen - and that's all buttercream! Can you believe it?

These pinks and greens are perfectly Spring-y:

And this mint-and-yellow combo is the cheeriest of them all:

Need to battle the impending Winter blues? Then how about a giant bouquet of pretty-in-pink tulips?

(By Cofetaria Dana)

Then again, sometimes the blues aren't so bad.

Especially if they're in the form of hand painted pansies:

Digging those papery ruffles on the bottom tiers, too!

I may not be ready for Fall, but orange is still always my favorite:

And this combination of hand painted stems with 3D flowers is perfect. PERFECT, I say!

Ruffles and orchids and gold, oh my!

(By Precious Taarten)

I just want to hug that bottom tier. Is that wrong?

Oooh, now here's an amazing design:

(By It's A Cake Thing)

I can't decide which I like more: that dramatic flower topper or the fun beaded ombré underneath!

(That billowing on the bottom isn't too shabby, either.)

Another dramatic topper, this time with a tropical hibiscus:

And that sweet swath of lace! Ah!

You'll be hard pressed to look at this next one and NOT smile:

It's those cheerful greens, right? And the bitty little bird?

And finally, a whole wagon load of summery, spring-y cheer:

Just about Sweet enough to last us 'til Spring!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I Can't BB-Leave It

You know the problem with grapes? They're just so... grapey.

MUCH better.

(Yes, I know that's not cake. But funny grape signs ARE MY JAM.)

When possible, it's always nice to work in a good "f you" to a congratulatory cake:

Really keeps 'em guessing.

AKA, the "have you had your coffee yet?" test.

(How long did it take you? Be honest, now.)

I know a lot of people are back to school now, and lemme tell ya:

It wasn't a moment too soon.

And finally, since Rey had her moment in the spotlight earlier this week, let's turn to the oh-so-adorable BB-8.

THIS is the droid CW reader Low was looking for.

But sadly - and rather ironically - what Low got ended up reaching a new low. So, so, SOLO.

They see me rollin', they BB-h8tin'.

Thanks to Norma Jean, Tania L., Jennifer C., Peter D., & Low T. for recommending that documentary on how the Death Star was built. It was riveting.
