Sunday Sweets: Winter Has Come

I live in Florida for a few reasons, my friends, none of which include having to wear two pairs of pants and 6 layers of sweaters. Indoors.

Yes, it's a frigid 67 degrees F in my office right now, and yes, I am a pansy. That's why I live in Florida. (See? Full circle.)

Anyway, if anything will make these frigid conditions bearable, it's a) my electric blanket, and b) some pretty winter cakes.

SO LET'S DO THIS.

Shining, shimmering, splendid! And Aladdin quotes aside, that misty forest silhouette is positively dreamy.

It says something when you start to daydream about wearing the fondant mittens. But seriously, how cute are these??

These soft watercolors are perfection. And did you notice the oh-so-subtle color stripe on top?

Ermergersh, you guys. Er. MERGERSH. Look!

Squeeee!
I love how the narwhal looks like he's policing the penguin. Like, "One at a time, now, no rough-housing!" And do you see the penguin covering its eyes? Ack! SO CUTE.

More icy elegance:

It's like a fire made of icicles, or a feathery column of smoke! Now, raise your hand if you want to see how they cut it. [raises hand]

Oooh, and here's an Aurora Borealis... in cake!

Gorgeous!

More cuteness for those planning a baby shower this winter:

I really like the lime green and gray combo.

This one looks like a porcelain painting:

You almost expect it to light up from the inside, right?

Ok, I know, I KNOW - this next one is undeniably Christmassy. But look!

Pastel sparkly prettiness!

And the deer kind of look like patronuses from Harry Potter, so, you know... BONUS.

I saved the best for last, though.

BEHOLD! It's me, in cake form!

Just add about 5 layers of sweaters on top. :D

Happy Sunday, everyone! Stay warm out there!

It's A Baby Cake Creep Off!

Alright, minions, let's settle this.

Would you choose...

Door #1?

natashasio.ow.babyladybug.jpg

WILL the head tilt towards you?
WILL the eyes open?
The world may never know... 'cuz I'm outta here.

Door #2?

Heavy is the head that wears the crown... 'cuz that thing is ginormous. ("It's like Sputnik!")

Door #2.5?

mandiemil.lw.babybutt.jpg

No butts, no cuts, no no NO CUTTING BABIES IN HALF, PEOPLE.
How many times do we have to go through this? Eeesh.

Or finally...

Door #3?

AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGHHH!!!!

Thanks to Natasha S., Alicia F., Mandie M., & Jill D. for proving babies are just as terrifying as I think they are.

P.S. Watch me un-creepify this post by going from creepy baby cakes to baby beef cakes:

The Buff Baby Rattle

This is hilarious. And a real thing! Amazon helpfully suggested I pair it with the "Do You Even Lift?" baby onesie and now I wish I had a weightlifting friend with a baby to give this to.
