Fall Into Sweets

It's Fall, y'all, which means pumpkins, pumpkins, EVERYWHERE:

(With Love & Confection)

I've never been a huge pumpkin pie fan, but cake? YES, PLEASE.

And while orange IS my favorite color, I'm still utterly smitten with these white pumpkins:

And get this: the flavor is sweet potato spice, filled with spiced brown sugar buttercream and candied pecans. SWOON. And it's hand painted. YES YES PLEASE PLEASE.

Now check out this mind-boggling design:

I was so amazed by that "carved" design that I almost missed the teensy tiny mice. DON'T MISS THE TEENSY TINY MICE, YOU GUYS.

Of course, there's a lot more to Fall than just pumpkins, though.

There are also acorns:

And squirrels wearing perfect little crowns. (squee!)

And all those colorful changing leaves you lucky Northern types get to brag about:

Down here in Florida all we get are pine cones and non-stop greenery. (Am I jealous? YEP.)

Those rainbow leaves can look gorgeous in shades of white, too, though:

Another Fall staple: bales of hay (for hay rides!) and black cats in funny hats:

Suh-WHEAT!

(Sorry, sorry. I know how my puns can go against the grain.)

(HAY-O!)

:D

And where there is hay, there must also be adorable scarecrow cookies. Because I said so.

Or how about a modern take on all that Fall leafy goodness?

So fun!

Or, if you prefer a more traditional approach:

Stunning. Hard to believe the "stump" is cake, too!

Ooh, or how about an apple orchard cake?

I love the initials carved in the "birch" tier - so perfect for a Fall wedding! And you'll never believe this, but the apples are made of rice crispy treats. SERIOUSLY. (How you like them apples?)

Well, here's hoping the weather cools enough for us Floridians to crack some windows open soon, but 'til then, the rest of you have a cup of cider for me, k? Happy Sunday, everyone!
